If the Banks Don’t Get It, We’ll Do It Ourselves
I’ve sat on both sides of the table when it comes to lending. I’ve been the one asking for a loan and the one running the numbers to see if it would get approved. And I can tell you, most traditional lenders don’t understand agriculture as well as they think they do.
It’s not because they’re bad people. It’s because the system they work in isn’t built for how a farm or ranch actually runs. If you’re in this business, you know what I mean. You can have a barn full of cattle or bins full of grain and still show up “cash poor” on paper. Try explaining to a banker that the crop you’re planting today won’t put money in your pocket for months, maybe a year.
For too many producers, those conversations end the same way: declined.
That’s why we built EA Capital. We don’t serve the general public. We serve the producers we already work with. Folks we know, trust, and have already stood beside through planning, marketing, and tough seasons.
We built EA Capital around what’s real in agriculture:
Seasonality isn’t a risk. It’s the business.
Cash flow looks different here, and that doesn’t mean you can’t handle a note.
Paperwork shouldn’t be the barrier. We cut through it because we already know your operation.
Fund 1 is already in motion. We’ve put capital into the hands of producers ready to grow, recover, or take the next step without losing weeks or months waiting on a “yes” from a bank that doesn’t see the whole picture.
I’ve always believed that when you strip away the noise, ag is still about people. The right partnerships can make or break you. And a lender who understands the life you live can be the difference between staying stuck and moving forward.
If you’ve been told “no” by a bank that’s never walked your ground, I get it. That’s exactly why we built EA Capital.
We put this episode together because a lot of folks have asked how EA Capital actually works and why we started it in the first place. If you’ve ever felt like your bank doesn’t understand how your operation runs, this conversation will make sense to you. Give it a watch (or a listen) and see what we’re doing differently.
